A Magical Boutique of Celebration Art

House of Adornment was born from a lifelong love of creativity, beauty, and celebration.

Shiphrah's name means the light of a star — the illuminated transparency a star gives off — and that starlight runs through everything we do. Inspired by the French word accoutrer — to adorn, to equip — our mission is to help people of every age step into a little more magic.

Whether it's a child's first butterfly face paint, a teenager's festival glitter, or permanent jewelry shared between best friends, we believe every celebration deserves a little extra sparkle. We've found ways to bedazzle nearly every part of you — skin, hair, even teeth — so you leave equipped for the party, glowing like the star you are.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are your products safe for children and sensitive skin?
Yes! We use professional, cosmetic-grade, FDA-compliant paints and skin-safe cosmetic glitter. Everything washes off gently with soap and water.
How long do teeth gems last?
We use professional-grade dental bonding to apply teeth gems, and they typically last from several weeks to a few months. Removal should be done by a dentist — please don't try to remove them at home.
What is permanent jewelry?
A delicate chain custom-fit to your wrist or ankle and welded closed — no clasp, no fuss. It's a beautiful keepsake, and a favorite for best friends, sisters, and mother-daughter pairs.
How far in advance should I book my event?
We recommend booking 2–4 weeks ahead for private events, and earlier for weddings and busy festival seasons. A $50 reservation fee is required to secure your date.
Do you travel outside of Taos?
Yes — we serve Taos and beyond! If your event is more than a 30-minute drive from Taos, a travel fee will apply. Reach out with your location and we'll make the magic work.
How many guests can you glam per hour?
Roughly 8–12 quick designs or 5–6 full transformations per hour, depending on detail. For large events, ask about extended hours or a second artist.
